Rowing
We will start on the lovely little river Saar that makes its way throught two locks
towards the river Moselle until we reach Trier, shortly after the two rivers meet.
Later on we will follow the Moselle along its meandering course through the wine hills
on the way down towards Koblenz,
again passing through some locks. No need to worry, there are
not many barges on the river but nevertheless itīs a European Waterway and we have to stick to the
rules. The Moselle has some current, depending on the water level.
We will row almost to its confluence with the mighty river Rhine. Itīa lovely landscape
decorated with numeros vineyards, you will not only see the wine growing, you will get a tasting
as well.
Of course you will see and visit impressive castles, and guided tours are planed at historical
places like the former Roman City of Trier. Maybe you will meet an old Roman you have met before?
Rowing distance is about 180 km in six rowing days. The daily distances are moderate and
will vary depending on the land program.
We plan to have one non-rowing day.
